Accessible websites
We have years of experience of developing websites from scratch and a good understanding of accessible web usability for people with a learning disability and autistic people thanks to projects we've worked on with IC Works experts.
Global web standards are excellent for improving web accessibility for people with visual impairments but do not address web accessibility for people with cognitive issues. That's where IC Works can help.
For example, we worked with NHS South West London ICB in 2024 to co-create a ‘mobile first’ accessible webpage for the groundbreaking London-wide Universal Care Plan.

Spoken word audio
As part of our accessible formats package, we work with the Royal Association for Deaf People to provide spoken word audio of the documents.
Audio is provided as optimised mp3 files for ease of downloading and streaming online.
Accessible videos
We work with film production company Frizbee to co-produce professional films and accessible films for people with a learning disability and autistic people.
We approach making accessible films in the same way we approach all filming projects.
We get a clear brief, line up experts to film and get across the message in a strong and compelling way. We also work out the best way to present the information and where and when to use it.
We always strive to make filming a fun experience.
This involves coaching before and during the filming to help everyone feel at ease with the setup and come across at their best on camera.
British Sign Language
We have forged a partnership with the Royal Association for Deaf People and have produced many high-quality BSL videos and spoken word audio files for Transport for London (TfL) projects and guides.
We work with The Art House in Wakefield to produce Braille documents from text documents and have already arranged this for several TfL projects.
Please get in touch if you want your documents to reach the widest possible audience and for NHS organisations to follow the Accessible Information Standard.
