With one eye on a Care Quality Commission inspection and another on the Care Act 2014 the canny proprietor of Oakhaven Residential Care Home, Ralph Holland, asked us to produce an Easy Read Service User Guide.
Ralph understands Easy Read isn't just a format for people with learning disabilities. A number of residents at Oakhaven are in the early stages of dementia so an easily digestible version of the guide is far more accessible for them, and the other residents will appreciate a pithier and more visual iteration of the guide.
The Care Act 2014 says that local authorities and care providers must provide information and advice that's accessible and from a variety of sources.
Here's what Ralph said about our work:
"IC Works have been an excellent partner organisation to work with, proving themselves to be attentive, responsive and accurate to the brief.
Our job was carried out in a prompt and friendly manner and IC Works bought new ideas and resources which we weren’t aware of and I am pleased to recommend them highly.
Feedback from our residents is that they have found this version of our Guide very useful and informative."
