Barking and Dagenham Council are changing the way they deliver social services.

One way to make this process more accessible to local people is the production of a roadmap that shows, pictorially, key life stages from pregnancy to end of life.

B&D asked IC Works to help them create a draft Easy Read version of the roadmap using a combination of Photosymbols and stock photos strategically placed along a stylised road.

The roadmap was workshopped and updated based on feedback from a workshop led by Ian of IC Works with a group of family carers and service users with learning disabilities.

This project is ongoing and there may be some exciting news to report relating to an accessible digital solution for the service. Watch this space....
